Man for sale

Saw this recent Ebay sale - caught by Towleroad. Take a look at Kory's bid. This cute 21 year old is so sick and bored of life in Morehead that he's selling his services for one year.

Currently looking for job, family, place to stay far away from here. Bored with life.

Sure, it sounds like a gay man's prurient, sex-soaked dream ( definitely something out of gay porn ) to own this hunky stud - and use him for his various services - but it actually sounds terribly sad to me. Although I'm sure he meant the ebay ad to sound interesting, I find it terribly disheartening. What made this young man so disillusioned and tired of life in his town that he has to do this? How did he end up getting so screwed up with debts that he had to sell his services this way?

Aye, very sad situation. But at the same time he takes drastic measure to clean up his life, but no, still sad place to be at 21 y/o. Imagine what kind of family he must have...

I have a feeling his services don't go as far as the synopsis for a gay porn though..

He will bring a lot of luggage, maybe if he sold if off he wouldn't be in such debt?

Sven makes a good point. If he sells all his stuff, he might be able to pay off a good amount of his debt. But it's also sad to see someone resort to this measure to have a fresh outlook on life. :(

Having lived in Kentucky all my life, I can understand why he wants to leave.

However, selling yourself on eBay is just plain stupid. Morehead has university IN TOWN. If he wants to get away, all he needs to do is go to Morehead, and I'm pretty sure that he could be hired for research assistant, or something like that. Just judging by the way he is dressed, and the things he has to offer, he comes from a well-off family that expects nothing much of him.

But Morehead is about 1.5 hours from Lexington (world headquarters of LexMark Inc. - computer printers and accessories). He's just not looked very hard, and I know Central Kentucky guys...they're some of the most egotistical, self-centered, guys you could meet.

Sorry, to get on my soapbox, but I know how these guys are, fairly well. If he wants to do this - let him. He'll pay the consequences of his actions, be they good or bad.

I can imagine the kinda guys you're talking about, Jason. :) Luckily I was mean enough not to get any crap from them.

But still you gotta admit it's terribly sad to be so young. And that desperate for change.
