A sap for romance

Someone said I'm a sap for romance once. Twice. Perhaps even three times.

And it's true. I might present a serious, conservative, perhaps even invincible ( intimidating? ) facade for all to see but deep inside, I am soft as melted butter in the sun. Romantic movies make me swoon. Little love notes in my work satchel have me sighing. Moonlight serenades, highly embarassing thought it may be, would have my knees turning to mush.

I blame it on the sinful number of romance novels that I've read all throughout my life. Let's see... it could be about 2 a week and I started reading when I was primary school. Add in the number of mushy romantic movies / chick flicks I've sat through ( and occasionally sobbed through, I admit.. well, manfully flicked my tears away anyway! )... and you can imagine how that has all warped my view of life. Fucking rose-tinted glasses, my ISO says.

Fucking sap... but I can't help it.

The "sap" is the sweetest part of the tree...hence maple syrup!

In the case of the pine, the "sap" is the part that is most versatile....

So, remember, sap is GOOD.

Romantic is just so attractive.

So you do that with movies, too? :o)

I am anxiously awaiting the US opening of Brokeback Mountain. Do you think it will open there?

You're a sap for romance. You're a sap for romance. You're a sap for romance.

And who's been leaving love notes in your work satchel?

Yeah, I sob manfully at movies and dry my tears on the nearest available broad shoulder.

If Brokeback Mountain opens in Malaysia, it'd be the day gay marriages are legal here. Which is never actually, sue :) But we have pirated dvds!

No one has been leaving messages, weeshiong! I am sad.

Once, twice, three times, that makes you my kind of lady, Paul. ;-)

You gotta love Lionel Richey, even if he did unleash that daughter on us.

Brokeback mountain - my lecturer and I were watching and rewatching the trailer the other day. The part where Heath Ledger hugged Jake Gyllenhall's shirt and breathed in his scent...so AWWWWWW!

Paul, you sap. Have you ever had to put a movie on pause so that you could finish sobbing first? Not that I have. *Blushes pink and clears her throat* Not me. No, never.

THat is the way I am but someone needs to give my BF some lessons. He is a slug in the romance department.

Somehow, straight romance novels never got my interest. Put two guys in the romance however and I'd be sucked into the story real quick, dreaming of true love and singing sappy songs. Heh.

Still... life has a way of killing notions of romance. Mine's still alive and kicking fortunately, but I can't help but try to think realisticly too. It's a defence mechanism, a feeble attempt to prepare myself for reality this time around.

Thanks so much, life.

closetalk, I liked the pictures myself!

But Michael, that trashy show with Hilton and Richie is occasionally entertaining in a low brow way :)

James, not only do I pause the show.. I rewind to watch it again!

But you can teach him, Scotty! Let him learn the ways.

You're still young. Don't get cynical yet, Daniel.
